OctoberRecent Publication in Landscape and Urban Planning
Our recent publication in the Journal of Landscape and Urban Planning highlights a body of research developed over nine years in a PhD research. The paper highlights:
- Importance of visual amenity issues in development conflicts.
- Lack of measurable tools in assessing visual impacts of high-rise buildings.
- A new assessment method to quantify magnitude of change resulted from height and bulk of built forms.
- A new interpretation of visible space in vertical plane by projection of visual bowl.
- Increase reliability and certainty of visual impact assessments.
The paper draws out a clear direction to continue the research and achieve tangible outcomes for city planning and design.
